July 2017

July 25 [Tuesday] --Board Meeting,  5 pm. Location to be announced.

July 27 [Thursday]--Public Program--Stop PA Gerrymandering.  7 pm at the Main Street Center.

The League of Women Voters of Clarion County and Indivisible We Rise-Clarion County are hosting a public education program on reforming Pennsylvania’s redistricting process. Fair Districts PA speaker Suzanne Broughton will explain PA’s current redistricting process, demonstrate how it undermines democracy, and then offer a solution to the problem.

AUGUST 2016


August 30--Board meeting 5 pm, home of Janice Horn

August 26--Women's Equality Day



SEPTEMBER 2016

September 13--Mixer/Social for  members and potential members. Wine and cheese! Learn about the League. Refresh friendships! Michelle's Cafe, Main Street, Clarion. 6 pm.

September 16--Constitution Day observed.  The US Constitution was signed September 17,  1787.

          September 24 to  October 2 --Clarion County Autumn Leaf Festival

         September 27--National Voter Registration Day

         September 27--Board Meeting, 5 pm,
home 2 of Janice Horn.


OCTOBER 2016

October  11--Last day to register to vote before November Election.

October 18--Candidates' Forum in Warren PA.  Glenn Thompson and Kerith Strano Taylor,  candidates for US Representatives for the 5th District of Pennsylvania will answer questions at the Warren Public Library, Slater Room,
205 Market Street in Warren.  6 to 7:30 pm.

October 20 -- Candidates Debate 7 pm.    Donna Oberlander and Joe Billotte,  candidates for the 63rd District, PA House of Representatives. Clarion Main Street Center.

October 25 --Board Meeting, 5 pm, home 2 of Janice Horn.


NOVEMBER 2016

November 1--Last day to apply for a civilian absentee ballot.

November 4--Last day for County Board of Elections to receive voted civilian absentee ballot.

November 8--General Election  7 am to 8 pm          Read the  LWV Voters Guide.

November 16--[Wednesday] Money in Politics-- Clarion LWV public meeting. 
    7 pm, Clarion Library Meeting Room, lower level. 
   

November 27--Board Meeting, 5 pm, home 2 of Janice Horn.


DECEMBER  2016

         December 10-- [Saturday] Deadline for Underwear Project Donations.  Bring new children's socks
                          and underwear to the Fulmer House Book Store.

          December 13--[Tuesday] 6 am Holiday Party.
                         Cass Neely's camp on the Clarion River. 
 December 15--Bill of Rights Day-- 225th anniversary of the adoption of the first ten amendments
                 to the US Constitution.


  No Board meeting in December.

JANUARY  2017

January 17---[Tuesday]    LWVPA State Program Planning. 
                 6 pm Clarion Free Library, lower level--Literacy Council room.


January 21--Women's March on Clarion, starting at the Fulmer House Book Store at 10 am, then
a rally
in the  Courthouse park.   National League of Women Voters was a co-sponsor of the Women's March on Washington DC.

 
January 31 ---[Tuesday]   Clarion LWV January Board meeting.
                 5 pm Janice Horn’s 2nd house.


 
FEBRUARY 2017

February 14--97th Anniversary of the national League of Women Voters.
            First day to circulate and file nomination petitions.

February 21--Members' Program--Election Laws Review and Update of LWV Positions.  6 pm
            at the Clarion Free Library,   Literacy Council Room on the lower level.

February 28--
Board Meeting, 5 pm, office of Brenda Haws


MARCH 2017  Women's History Month

          March 7--Last day to circulate and file nomination petitions.

March 21-- Members' Program--View film Suffragette.  6 pm at  the home of Elisabeth Fulmer,  132 S. 7th Avenue, Clarion.

March 29 [Wednesday] --
Board Meeting, 5 pm, office of Brenda Haws.


APRIL  2017

          April 17  Last day to register before the Primary.

April 22   Earth Day Celebration at Clarion Free Library, 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
        Science activities, crafts, stories, music, information.

MAY  2017

          May 2 --  April Board Meeting, 5 pm, office of  Brenda Haws.


         May 9  -- Last day to apply for a civilian absentee ballot.

May 16 --Primary Election.   See our Spring  2017 Voters Guide!

May 23-- Clarion LWV Annual Meeting . 5:30 pm at the
                 Grace Lutheran Church in Clarion near the  courthouse.


No Board Meeting in May.

          
     
JUNE 2017

June 1-4 -- LWVPA Convention in Pocono Manor, PA.

June 3 [and September 16]  Clarion County Recycling Day, Clarion County  Park, 9 am to 1 pm.
        See  FLYER for list of  acceptable items.  Electronics and  hazardous materials must be
        pre-registered.
